The Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by Joseph Goebbels biased the population in favour of Nazi theory of race, therefore many Germans regarded Slavs and Jews as sub-human.
The tax authorities at the Reich Ministry of Finance under Graf Schwerin von Krosigk not only designed the Reich Flight Tax for emigrating Jews, worsening their situation, but also special taxes for Poles and Eastern Workers. Thus, the government further benefited from forced labour and was able to keep taxes for its own citizens low.
The building of the former Ministry for Propaganda is now home to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. At the site of the former Reich Ministry of Finance now houses the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
