Camps in the Neighbourhood

Forced Labourer Camps in Apartments

The company Telefunken housed 119 French women in the rear wing at Tempelhofer Ufer 10.

Camps in the Court Yard

Coal cellars, attics, hotels, ballrooms, schools – they all served as forced labour camps

Forced labourers were not only housed in barrack camps, but also in cheaply improvised camps in halls or courtyards. The company Telefunken used regular apartments in rear buildings. Other camps were set up in attics, hotels, restaurants, banquet halls, schools and coal cellars.
