No Longer Suitable for Work
Tanja Beljawska (1923-1944)
The 19 year old was deported from the Soviet Union in June, 1942. The red cross on top of the document signals her death.
Tanja – called Anna by the authorities – was photographed in the transit camp.
She came from the region around Zhytomyr in Ukraine. Police and employment office issued labour cards in the transit camp.
Tanja Beljawska worked for the Weser Flugzeugwerke at Tempelhof Airport. She contracted tuberculosis in the camp on Columbiadamm.
For Weser Flugzeugbau GmbH she was “no longer suitable for work”. She died in the Blankenfelde sick camp. Employment office and company argued about burial costs.
